Gilbert Ray Mondie, age 81, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, November 11 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital.

He was also in the Army.

He was born on Sunday, May 14 1939, in Liberty, Kentucky.

He was the son of:
Mother - Opal Walden Mondie, who has preceded him in death
Father - Ozie Mondie, who has preceded him in death

Larry Mondie, spouse Bonita, of Dunnville KY.
Johnny Mondie, of Liberty KY.

He is survived by 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mondie, 4 sisters and 3 brothers, a son, Ozie Mondie and a granddaughter, Sharon Mondie. ---- He was a truck driver, a Veteran of the US Army, member of Temple Hill Church and loved playing and singing bluegrass music. Pallbearers were Larry, Dewayne, Johnny, Jerry, Jeff and Junior Mondie. Honorary Pallbearers were E.J. Propes and Justin Mondie

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM (Visitation on Sunday at 10 AM) Sunday, November 15 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM Saturday, November 14 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, , Rheber, Kentucky, KY.
