James Roger Beard

James Roger Beard, age 80, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, November 09 2022 at Summit Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on Tuesday, June 16 1942, in Columbia, KY.

He was the son of:
Mother - Etta Burris Beard, who has preceded him in death
Father - Artis Everett Beard, who has preceded him in death

Survivors also include:
Wife - Lynda Beard of Columbia, KY

1 Daughter:

Melisa Joe Platacis, of Greenwood IN

1 Brother:

Bobby Lewis Beard, of Columbia KY

He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jessica Jo Pierce (Wesley), Jacob Sullivan and Lucas Sullivan and one great-grandchild, Allie Jo Pierce. He was an employee of Don Franklin, an avid U.K. Basketball fan and of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Alfred Beard, Lovie Vertrees, Christine Bell, Opal Murphy, Davis Beard, George Beard, Hollan Beard, Doris Romans, Peggy Kean, Earnest Beard and Loretta Beard. Pallbearers were: Lucas Sullivan, Jacob Sullivan, Shawn Cerrato, Troy Gosser, Kenny Beard and Donnie Kean. Honorary Pallbearers were: Larry Beard, Rick Mann, Steve Beard, Junior Beard, Joe Romans and Terry Romans.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 12 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation will be 11:00 Saturday, November 12 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Interment will be in Rexroat Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.
