James Ballenger Tarter, age 92, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, June 15 2022 at U.K. Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on Tuesday, February 22 1930, at Wolf Creek, Kentucky to the late Della Dunbar Tarter and C.V. Tarter.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Temple Roy Tarter of Russell Springs, Kentucky
Barbara Gale Tarter Smith, special friend Wayne Lynch, of Russell Springs Kentucky
Rhonda Kay Shirley Morris, of Russell Springs Kentucky
Ronald G. Tarter, spouse Patty, of Russell Springs, Kentucky
He is also survived by his grandchildren. Jason and his wife Dolly, Brian Shirley and his wife Amy, Joshua Smith and Chasity Shirley, his great-grandchildren Chris Smith, Justin Shirley and his fiancé Natalie Rogers..
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Signa Smith, Roger, Eugene, and Adelma Tarter and a sister, Helen Tarter.
He was a farmer.
Pallbearers are: John Shaffer, Brandon Russell, Marty Kazsuk, Michael Pierce, Preston Richardson and Joe Branscum. Honorary Pallbearers are other members of Eli Volunteer Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Coffey's Chapel Community Church in Eli and can be made at the funeral home or to Rhonda Morris, the Coffey's Chapel Cemetery Fund Secretary.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Saturday, June 18 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Visitation will be 11 AM Saturday, June 18 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.
Interment will be in Coffey’s Chapel Community Church Cemetery, Eli, KY.
