Jonathan Coffey

Johnathan Wayne Coffey devoted husband, father, son and friend passed away on October 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family, at the age of 51. Though his time here brief, his life was overflowing with love, laughter, and meaning.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terra Coffey, who was his rock, his soulmate, his best friend and the love of his life. Together they built a life filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion to each other, forever and a day. 

He leaves behind his cherished son, Daniel Coffey, and two sons of the heart, Jacob (Madeline) Luster and Dustin Posey, all of whom he loved deeply and guided fiercely. To them he was more than a father; he was a steady presence, a teacher and a protector. He told the boys that his job was to be the dream killer, not to discourage them, but to prepare them. He believed in thinking things through, planning for the worst while hoping for the best, and never stepping into life unprepared. He worked hard to instill those same beliefs in his sons so they could face the world with wisdom, strength, and resilience.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Garry and Dotty Coffey.

He found joy in the simple things, a man of fierce love and loyalty. He lived every day with purpose. He found joy in cooking and feeding people. His life was a testament to gratitude and grace. He often said “I’ve had more blessings than I deserve, I may be young, but my blessings could fill up 498 years”. That was the kind of man he was - rich in love, generous in heart, and deeply thankful for every moment. 

He will be missed more than words can express, but he lives on in the memories, meals, and love he gave to so many.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025 in the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Garlin Wilson Officiating

Visitation will be from 10 AM until 4 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs.

Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
