Kenneth Roe “Wolfman” Robertson, age 91 of Russell Springs, died on December 4, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
He was born on February 2, 1933 the son of the late Ollis and Ica Luttrell Robertson.
Kenneth Robertson was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from August 18, 1955 to August 18, 1957 at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, Fort Riley Kansas and Fort Collins Colorado. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and a member of New Friendship United Baptist Church.
In March of 1962, Robertson began his embalmer and funeral director apprenticeship at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapels in Jamestown Kentucky and was a 1965 graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville, Kentucky
On July 13, 1965, Robertson received his funeral directors license and January 19, 1966 obtained his embalmers license from the Kentucky State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.
In the 1960’s, Robertson was appointed to the District Board of the Russell County Baptist Association as well as the Board of Directors of Russell County Board of Mental Health and Mental Retardation.
April 1, 1974 Russell County awarded Robertson with a contract to operate Robertson’s Ambulance Service and by mid-December the same year, finally received official license from the state to operate.
At the time he was running Robertson Ambulance Service, he was employed at Bartle Funeral Home in Liberty, Kentucky He had also worked for a funeral home in Morehead, Kentucky a short time.
In August 2015, Robertson received the 50 years of service pin from the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association.
Robertson had also worked for Russell Farm Supply and did farm related work, gravel hauling and other jobs around the community.
At the time of his passing, Robertson was the oldest licensed funeral director and embalmer in the area and had worked for over 20 years at Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Kenneth Roe Robertson, known by many as “Wolfman”, was well loved and respected for his work in community service and being there for people when they needed him most. He was also proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was also commisioned by ZGovernor Ernie Fletcher as a Honorable Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his parents, Ollis and Ica Luttrell Robertson, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Allen Robertson, who died December 1, 1972 and a brother, J. C. Robertson.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Burchett Robertson, Russell Springs, Kentucky,

He is survived by 6 grandchildren, Eric, Kendra, Elizabeth, Cody, Blake and Rebecca and a special nieces and nephews, Amanda and Preston Robertson, Wayne and Paula, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY
Visitation will be after 4 PM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Dr., Russell Springs, KY
Interment will be in the Robertson Family Cemetery.
Military honors were presented by the Russell County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were: Preston Robertson, Eric Robertson, Cody Robertson, Josh Sturdivant, Blake Robertson, Mike Robertson and Daniel Wilson
Special music was presented by the Chuck Wagon Gang.
