Mollie Selby

Mollie Selby, age 86, passed away Friday, December 19 2025 at Fairoaks Nursing Home.

She was born on Thursday, June 15 1939, in Jamestown, Kentucky.

She was the daughter of:
Mother - Rosa Nell Antle Lawless, who has preceded her in death
Father - Ora Clyde Lawless, who has preceded her in death

She was a retired teacher's aide and member of Fairview Separate Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Selby on April 1, 2025, four brothers, Kenneth C., Johnnie D., Irvin D., and Charles D. Lawless. She worked as a volunteer with the University of Louisville with the children and was eventually hired as a teacher's aid. She was a big part in getting a school for special needs children. Mollie worked with the board of education in Louisville for 27 years. She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics and Olympics Star Square Dance group. She was dedicated to her daughter, taking her to numerous country music shows where she met singers and obtained several autographs.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, December 23 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Visitation will be 12 NOON Tuesday, December 23 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY.

Interment will be in Jack Lawless Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.
