Phyllis Popplewell Gosser Roy Meeks

Phyllis Popplewell Gosser Roy Meeks, age 81, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Phyllis was born on February 9, 1941, to Alonzo and Roxie Popplewell, in Ono, Kentucky.  Phyllis was a teacher for 44 years as a reading specialist.  She was a member of Ono Community Church, and she loved the Lord with her whole heart. 

Phyllis is survived by her two children, Tammy (Ricky) Egnew and Alan (Mary Beth) Gosser, as well as two step-daughters, Judy (Mark) Goodin and Sheila Meeks.  She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Laura (Jason) Davidson, Lindsay (Taylor) Gibson, Dustin (Macey) Gosser, and Jared (Jacklyn) Gosser, and one step-granddaughter, Cassie (Bryant) Gregory.  In addition, five great-grandchildren survive: Connor and London Davidson, Scout and Boone Gibson, and Barrett Gosser, as well as four step-great-grandchildren: Valerie, Justin, Lilly, and Easton Gregory.  She is also survived by 4 siblings, Olene Popplewell, Carlus (Pat) Popplewell, Irene Loy, and Jo Ann (Kenneth) Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her spouses, Richard Gosser, Ralph M. Roy, and Argle Meeks.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Curtis Popplewell. 

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 8th, at Wilson Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9th, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Davidson and Bro. Dustin Gosser officiating.

Pallbearers: Jared Gosser, Dustin Gosser, Jason Davidson, Taylor Gibson, Connor Davidson and Boone Gibson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ono Community Church youth fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
