Rex Wilson Obituary

Rex D. Wilson, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Ashford Place. Born January 3, 1952 in Russell Springs, Kentucky, he was the son of Carsie and Levona (Stephens) Wilson.

Survivors include 2 uncles- Eddie Stephens (Mary) of Prospect, Kentucky, and Roy Stephens (Linda) of Hodgenville, Kentucky; 6 cousins- Paul Stephens of Prospect, Christopher Stephens of Louisville, Barry Stephens of Louisville, Ricky Stephens of Hodgenville, Charlotte Larson of Beech Grove, Indiana and Deborah Bernard of Boonville, Indiana. He is also survived by special friends Steve & Peggy Pennington of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Wilson had lived in Shelbyville, Indiana most of his lifetime. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1970, and was a member of Indiana University Varsity Club. He had been employed as a truck driver for Freudenburg NOK in Shelbyville for 40 years, retiring in 2012.

Rex was an avid IU basketball and Cincinnati Red's baseball fan. He enjoyed listening to blues music and watching sports on TV.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026 at McBeath Cemetery in Eli, Kentucky.

There will be no visitation.

Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs is in charge of local arrangements.
